Château Puy Boyrein

Bordeaux is one of the most famous wine region in the world. Before the rise of Burgundy, Rhône and other wine region in France, it has once been the synonym of French wines in Asia for decades. Served as an important port of France for centuries, Bordeaux wines had been exported to England and all over the world. Earned its reputation thourghout the history and high quality of wines, Bordeaux established its unshakable status in the world dure to the 1855 classification, that a list of top tier wineries were chose and entitled as the Grand Cru Classé.

Divided by river Garonne, Dordogne & Gironne, Bordeaux is split into 3 parts: the left bank, entre-deux-mers & the right bank. Most of the Grand Cru Classé are located in the left bank and Cabernet Sauvignon is the major grape variety, and wines in the right bank mainly use Merlot & Cabernet Franc, which creates an interesting contrast in style. Bordeaux also produces noble rot sweet wine using Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon in Sauternes & Barsac. Wines in Bordeaux are long lasting with great aging potential, great wines can easily evolve for over 20 years, and excellent work from Sauternes can live for centuries while delivering luxurious taste and aromas to wine lovers.

Bordeaux definitely has a far reaching influnce to the global winemaking culture, especially in New World wine regions, as winemakers and growers planted French originated grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon & Saugvignon Blanc and intimated the style of Bordeaux.

About Château Puy Boyrein

Château Puy Boyrein was originally part of a larger winery - Château Boyrein where is situated right between Sauternais & Graves. The Médeville family has been restructuring the property for three generations.  It consists of 55 acres of vineyards planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle.

The grapes for the red wine are fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks, and the wines then remain in underground tanks for 15-18 months before being bottled after a light fining and filtration. The 8 hectares of vines of Château Puy Boyrein are located on the commune of Roaillan between Garronne and the vast forest which runs along Atlantic sea.
