Queen of Mont-Pérat


Bordeaux is one of the most famous wine region in the world. Before the rise of Burgundy, Rhône and other wine region in France, it has once been the synonym of French wines in Asia for decades. Served as an important port of France for centuries, Bordeaux wines had been exported to England and all over the world. Earned its reputation thourghout the history and high quality of wines, Bordeaux established its unshakable status in the world dure to the 1855 classification, that a list of top tier wineries were chose and entitled as the Grand Cru Classé.

Divided by river Garonne, Dordogne & Gironne, Bordeaux is split into 3 parts: the left bank, entre-deux-mers & the right bank. Most of the Grand Cru Classé are located in the left bank and Cabernet Sauvignon is the major grape variety, and wines in the right bank mainly use Merlot & Cabernet Franc, which creates an interesting contrast in style. Bordeaux also produces noble rot sweet wine using Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon in Sauternes & Barsac. Wines in Bordeaux are long lasting with great aging potential, great wines can easily evolve for over 20 years, and excellent work from Sauternes can live for centuries while delivering luxurious taste and aromas to wine lovers.

Bordeaux definitely has a far reaching influnce to the global winemaking culture, especially in New World wine regions, as winemakers and growers planted French originated grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon & Saugvignon Blanc and intimated the style of Bordeaux.

About Queen of Mont-Pérat


Château Mont-Pérat is located in Premiere Côtes de Bordeaux. It was first mentioned in the 1864 edition of the famous Feret Wine Guide and is one of the jewels in the crown of the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux. This winery was bought by the Despagne family in 1998, and after five years' work it is producing wine of rare intensity.  

The Despagne are rooted in the Entre-deux-Mers for over 200 years and continue the family tradition of excellence. As a family company, the Despagne have made a name for themselves among the great wines of Bordeaux thanks to an inovating know how both in terms of vineyard management and vinification technics.

The Despagne range offers a wide palette of colors (whites, reds and rosés) and unusual tastes which are recognized and distributed throughout the world. Queen of Mont-Pérat is a special cuvée produced using the vines from neighbour's plot. The wine is made under Despange's advices in viniculture, winemaking and branding.
